The journey to
Victoria, British Columbia is just the
beginning…
Choose from several routes and modes of
transportation to get to Vancouver Island
and Victoria , whether you are coming from
coastal BC, Washington State or beyond.
The most popular travel route also offering
endless photo opportunities is aboard the BC
Ferries, connecting the British Columbia
Mainland to Victoria and the rest of
Vancouver Island. The 1 ½ hour ferry ride
travels through the majestic islands of the
Juan De Fuca Straight.
Other ferry options to consider are:
Washington State ferries, the
Co-Ho from Port Angeles or the passenger
only ferries such as
the Clipper from Seattle, the
Victoria Express Cruise Ship and the
Victoria/San Juan Cruise Ship.
Breathtaking views await those who like to
travel in style, such as on a
harbour plane or with
Helijet. These convenient flight options
will have you arriving in downtown Victoria,
direct from downtown Vancouver, in
approximately 30 minutes. Air travelers can
also fly into
Victoria International Airport, a half
hour drive north of the “Garden City”. The
Airporter Shuttles to hotels, car rentals
services and taxi's are available at the
Airport.
Another option we recommend you consider for
getting from Vancouver or from Northern
points of Vancouver Island to Victoria is
abroad
Pacific Coach Lines. They offer
reasonable rates and frequent service to
Victoria with several pick-up locations. The
coaches from Vancouver travel abroad on the
BC ferries giving you the added pleasure of
the “cruise” experience. |

Experience the
many leisure activities Victoria, British
Columbia has to offer, whether you are
looking to explore the natural beauty of the
Pacific Ocean or to take in a round of golf
with friends. And of course, shops galore!
Plan to visit Victoria's famous offshore
residents as one of your activities while
visiting; some of these seasonally include
the orca whales, minkes, humpbacks,
porpoises, sea lions and more. Spectacular
whale-watching tours are offered April
to October, and
marine wildlife tours are available from
October to April . Move at your own pace,
and rent a canoe or kayak and explore the
calm Gorge Waterway. Cycle the
Galloping Goose Regional Trail, spanning
over 100 kilometers from Sidney to Sooke.
Victoria's mild climate also allows for
year-round golfing with many golf courses to
choose from.
Olympic View,
Arbutus Ridge,
Cordova Bay and the Jack Nicklaus

Located in a
sub-Mediterranean climate zone, Victoria,
British Columbia boasts the mildest weather
in Canada. While Victoria's winters are mild
and rarely include snow, some warmer
clothing is recommended between November &
March. This mild pleasant winter climate
attracts many visitors to Victoria, escaping
the winter in other parts of the country.
Sheltered by the coastal mountains of the
Pacific Northwest, the average amount of
rainfall in the summer months is 2.5 cm (1
inch) and only 5 cm (2 inches) in the winter
months. Ocean breezes keep the summer
temperatures pleasant and the humidity low.
